Far up north, a team of gas workers led by foreman Gena Morozov is at work. During a forced stop in a road construction workers' village, he meets the beautiful Lyuba, who is being courted by the road section chief Rostovtsev. One day, during a blizzard, a report comes in about an accident on the gas pipeline. Morozov and his comrades set off for the scene of the accident.
